Concurrent Disorders Field Placements

Field Placement Concurrent Disorders (WORK10113) is 200 hours in length, and can be taken only after successful completion of all of the following prerequisites.

  • Development of Counselling Skills (COUN10003)
  • Fostering Healthy Lifestyles (HLTH10152)
  • Pharmacology for Concurrent Disorders (HLTH10153)
  • Concurrent Disorders, Issues & Ethics (HMNS10094)
  • Concurrent Disorders (HMNS10050)
  • Prep for Field Placement (CRED10088)
  • Critical Incident & Safety Management (SAFE10085) OR Nonviolent Crisis Intervention (CONFMHN08) AND ASIST: Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training (CONF10012).

You must register in Concurrent Disorders Field Seminar (CRED10081) at the same time as Field Placement (WORK10113).

Requirements for Field Placement

  • Formal Police Clearance / Vulnerable Sector Screening (opens in new window) -Registered students who have been convicted of an offence under the Criminal Code for which they have not been pardoned may be denied the opportunity to enter field placement.
  • Communicable Disease Screening – Some placement agencies require that candidates undergo some disease screening such as tuberculosis testing.
